Once again filled nearly to capacity, our requirement for this one-day tournament with 108 players was to play 432 matches on 20 tables in 10 hours.  This ambitious goal was hampered by computer glitches that delayed the start of several events but ultimately the tournament wrapped up about 12 hours after the 10:00am kickoff.

Third seed in the top division Scott Endicott of Flint Michigan started out with a first-round loss to a streaking A.J. Carney of Rochester NY, but in the playoff round A.J. faded, and Scott gained momentum to end up in 1^st place with only the early loss to A.J. to blemish his record.  Squeaking into 2^nd was perennial winner Randy Seemiller of Pittsburgh in spite of a loss to practice partner Chip Coulter.  Taking third was a very strong-looking Yong Long Zhen of Cleveland who is reportedly practicing with Samson Dubina and looks ready to enter the 2200 rating club.

In Division 2, 2nd seed Seth Pech played a smooth, powerful and well-disciplined game to take first over Desmond Preston of Rochester in an undefeated day.

All in all, 50% of all entrants received prize money or trophy for their efforts.  Special thanks to Butterfly Online for sponsoring the balls and to the Erie tournament committee for all their hard work.
